It is pretty safe to say the same traditions are shared across the United States when it comes celebrating the 4th of July. From a day in the sun, to a cook out with sizzling burgers and hot dogs on the grill, ended by everyone gathering under a star lit sky to take in the spectacular fireworks, whispering “Ooh” and “Ahh” over the display before them.
As far as the Eastern Shore goes, you can find family and friends heading to Ocean City, MD., for one of the busiest holidays for the resort town. This is why the Town of Ocean City, in partnership with businesses, make sure they put their best foot forward in making the 4th of July the best yet for visitors and residents alike.
The Carousel Resort Hotel & Condominiums located on 118th Street and Coastal Hwy., will be offering special patriotic libations and dining on the patio at the Tsunami Bar & Grill, such as red, white and blue nachos with all the fixings and a frozen cocktail. Live entertainment is also offered from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Grab a drink and gather your family and friends around one of our fire pits to bring in the holiday.
The Carousel’s Family Photo Night that takes place Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. for guests will offer one-of-a-kind 4th of July photo backgrounds and props that will give your family a special Independence Day memento to take home.
On Thursday, the 4th of July, professional figure skaters, The Next Ice Age, will be performing the National Anthem at 6:30 p.m. prior to the show. Every night, except for Fridays, The Next Ice Age performs a free ice skating show, Summer Fun, on the ice rink located inside the Carousel starting at 6:30 p.m. The show is open to guests, as well as the public. It’s an event you won’t want to miss!
Last but not least, Carousel guests will be invited to the rooftop of the hotel’s parking garage starting at 9:30 p.m. where they will have the perfect view of the fireworks from Northside Park. Patriotic glow sticks and accessories will be provided to celebrate the occasion.
The Town of Ocean City offers two locations for a fun-filled evening on July 4th. Both uptown and downtown locations will have a live DJ performance starting at 8 p.m. followed by a firework show at 9:30 p.m. The uptown location is held at Northside Park located on 125th Street and the Bay, and the downtown event will be held on the beach at North Division Street.
