March is here and with it, the much anticipated end of the cold weather and dark days! As Daylight Savings Time gives us an extra hour of sun starting March 8th and the Spring Equinox falls on March 20th, Ocean City begins to wake up from the sleepy winter.
The month opens with the fourth year of the Ocean City Film Festival on March 5th. As always, there is a wide range of films to enjoy in different locations in Ocean City. Even the Carousel will be hosting! A showing of note on March 6th at 8pm is titled Life in Synchro and follows a synchronized ice skating team out of Baltimore. It’s not just the film showing! After the showing, the skate team will be performing on the Carousel Ice Rink so be sure to attend!

St. Patrick’s Day weekend brings so much energy to the town with the ever popular St. Patrick’s Day Parade on Saturday, March 14th! Starting on 60th Street at noon, the parade travels south to 45th Street, where the Judging Stand and Irish Festival are located. Join the party and celebrate the Irish spirit!
The St. Patrick’s Day Parade brings fun but it also brings traffic issues. What is there to do about getting through the vehicle crowd? Ocean City Recreation and Parks will be hosting the final weekend of the St. Patrick’s Soccer Tournament from March 13th to March 15th. This is for the Adult Men’s and Women’s Divisions.
